APIN is a non governmental donor funded organization dedicated to the
prevention, treatment, care and support of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria.
APIN’s goal is not just to contribute to the reduction of the rate of growth of
the HIV epidemic in Nigeria but also to the ultimate reversal of its course. Our
prevention, treatment, care and support activities currently span forty two cities
in ten states of the federation and are cordinated from our offices in Lagos and
Abuja and Ibadan

We require the services of the following:
– Lead thedatabase management team to support the maintenance of
existing database platforms and to dvelop new ones donor data reporting
– Lead the design of new databae utilities on the file maker pro in response
to programme needs
– Design and implement in conjunction with other members of the
strategic information team, capacity building plans for data managers and
subcontractor sites
– Develop and coordinate the implementation of data cleaning strategies at
the central office and subcontractor sites
– Degree in physical sciences or engineering with professional certificates in
database management software like SQL, oracle, MYSQL, erc and a second
degree in information technology/computer science wil be an added
advantage with minimum of 5 years relevant experience of which 3 years
must be in computing scripts in a development environment, testing scripts
in a quality assurance environment and implementing large updates of
– Ability to provide technical support in developing and maintain database
applications and maintain relational databases like back up and recovery,
problem diagnosis etc
– Ability to trans late business requirement into structured programming and
resolve database capacity issues
– Ability to work under pressure and easy adaptation andd think logically
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work with

diverse group of persons

– Willingness to do a considerable amount of local travel
– Provide hands on support to the management of the programs’ database at
both the office and sites level
– Carry out routine data cleaning activities
– Analyze and summarise sites’ error logs on a monthly basis, highlighting
emergent technical assistance needs as wella as track sites usage
– Provide online and onsite technical assistant to database management
teams at the program sites
– Work closely with the database specialist to ensure data are of acceptable
quality standards
– Contribute to the regular review of data management standard operating
procedures and the sites assessment tools
– Carry out data quality assessment in conjunction with M&E officers
– Support the development and maintenance of programme utilities
– HND/BSc in computer science or information technology with at least 2
years relevant experience in database management
– Ability to use own initiative, write and develop programmes management
and analysis
– Knowledge of nature of HIV/AIDS data and data management policies and
– High level of data security consciousness
– Provide wide range of support in the human resource and organizational
development functions
– Support and monitor the implementation of organizational effectiveness
and initiatives and render on progress being made
– Work closely with human resources and benefits manager to monitor and
benchmark HR systems
– Minotor adherence to personnel policies and code of conduct and render
periodic reports
– Support the development and alignment of perfoemance management
programm with key organisational goals

– Degree in social science, humanities or any related discipline with a
membership of chartered institute of personnel management and
minimum of 4 years relevant experience in the development sector
– Abilit to use own initiative and basic knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law
– Knowledge of HR skills
– Excellent best practises and report writing,
– Excellent oral and written skills, computer and interpersonal skills
– Oversee and review of the financial acitivities of NGOs and CBOs as
partners of APIN
– Collate and review financial reports from programs partners and post
financial reports to quick books
– Prepare reimbursement schedules to partners and manage the office petty
– Carry out reconciliation of site advances account
– HND/BSC in accounting with at least 3 years related experience in a donor
funded program
– Ability to use own intiative and eyes for details
– Mastery of rudiments of accounting and ability to use quick books
accounting software
– Good oral and written communication skills and excellent computer usage
